Light Up the Season: North Fulton's 2026 Holiday Tree Lightings

Nothing kicks off the holidays in North Fulton quite like a tree lighting. Every year our cities roll out the snow machines, hot cocoa, and Santa, and this season's lineup is a great one. Here's what to put on your calendar.
Alpharetta Season of Celebration Tree Lighting: Saturday, November 21 in Downtown Alpharetta. This tradition started in 1977 with about 100 people and a six-foot spruce, and it now draws thousands. Expect live music, falling snow, marshmallow roasting, and a visit from Santa as 10,000 bulbs light up downtown. Free, rain or shine.
Lighting of Avalon: Sunday, November 22 at Avalon. The evening includes the season opening of Avalon on Ice, the big tree lighting, festive music, free family activities, and an appearance from Saint Nick himself.
Johns Creek Holly Jolly Block Party: Friday, December 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Boardwalk at Town Center (11360 Lakefield Drive). Johns Creek lights its 40-foot Christmas tree with live music and the famous holiday llamas.
Christmas in Crabapple: Saturday, December 5 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Broadwell Pavilion in Milton. Photos with Santa, caroling, crafts, hot cocoa, and a community tree lighting with that small-town Crabapple charm.
Lights on the Loop: All of December along the Alpha Loop between Old Milton Parkway and Northwinds Parkway. A mile-long light display you can stroll any evening, perfect for a walk after dinner.
Christkindlmarket Roswell: Opening around November 20 at historic Bulloch Hall, with a German-style holiday market that's become a Roswell favorite. Check the event website for hours.
A few tips
Arrive early, especially for the Alpharetta and Avalon lightings, which draw big crowds. For downtown Alpharetta, the City Hall parking deck at 2 Park Plaza is your best bet. And bring a blanket or chairs if you want a good view of the stage.
